A lot of us are tired of high end BS no one can afford and highly proprietary stuff. Hollow Knight is the best game I've played in a long, long time and it could have been played with my 10+ year old midrange computer vs the updated one which was quieter for sure but didn't feel like much of an upgrade given how unoptimized AAA games are now.

Perhaps this is a blessing in disguise and we might see some actual game engine optimizations that don't expect hardware to keep getting better to perform. Plenty of games that were previously seen as a no go are now targeting the steam deck, which makes them more playable overall in every system.

Edit: my point: more sales = more interest = better optimization = better graphics at a lower entry point.

IDK if accountable is the right word. More like made an example of.

I know in California its common to:

  • Revert your car to stock emission standards during the biyearly smog inspection to avoid detection for people dedicated enough
  • Pay someone to pass the test without testing the car (not sure if possible on new cars with electronic serial number stuff?)
  • Register out of state
  • Etc.

You only have to barely look at some of the modifications done in California based YouTube channels to see the cars meet one of the above criteria.

This seems silly in terms of value unless it is bringing in some larger investigation home for large offenders that were already targeted by some other investigation and are being cross referenced.

Edit: for the record, I think this is a waste of money and resources as others have said. Plenty of more meaningful things to do if you actually give a shit about the environment or road laws.

No one should buy a product on a promise of future functionality. The answer is a clear "no" as of now.

Maybe, and there is some benefit for adding an off site backup, but the cost added up quickly. Each year they would have sent apple an extra $120 or so if they chose the wrong one because their plans conveniently jump from 200GB to 2TB.

A functional NFC payment check would be welcome. Hoping Motorola would have the pull to implement that either by getting Google Wallet's blessing or forcing them to. I really don't see why it is not considered a monopolistic practice since it gives Googles official OS an unfair advantage.

Or built for a different market, like 90s Hondas/Nissans etc. which assumed every country was as safe as Japan when it came to car theft. Nowadays its mostly profit driven. Security is not cheap and can add it's own set of headaches (security vs convenience).

Edit: Nissan still sucked at it from what I remember hearing of those and some kias being the main target near where we lived.

As someone with an n100, I did have to spend on an apple TV to have a hardware accelerated client for some of the harder to transcode content (h265 4k at higher bit rates). N100 will absolutely choke on some of those even with hardware acceleration enabled.
