Maybe a bit doomer but when talking about channeling energy into alternatives to electoral politics in the imperial core it's hard not to feel like you're hyping up someone with a broken back walking up to try and deadlift eight hundred pounds

I spend so much time downplaying myself I don't know how little or much I'm doing irl at this point.

Because adventurism suck. I've never hid my alternative: get an advanced degree so you can work in the Chinese research lab developing the Magnetic Anomaly Detector for the PLAN ASW helicopter modernization program.

Lmao

But the answer is to join and participate in an org

The effectiveness of electoralism and violence and boycotts and strikes is entirely dependent on whether they're part of an organized strategy or not. None of these tactics are inherently good or bad without context.

I've been told adventurism at this point in time is bad.

I really need to go to a protest though.

To be fair: I think voting has its place as a supplementary activity. After all, the ruling class is telling on themselves with their gutting of the voting rights act or looking for sneaky loopholes like election day being on a working day: hoping the poor will just be too busy to vote, especially at more regional or local levels of a country.

The problems with voting are more the mentalities of:

  1. All I need to do is vote
  2. I have to vote for a Democrat because the other guy is worse, even if the Democrat is doing awful things too

Voting is probably the easiest form of political participation and it's definitely the form that gets the most press coverage. Leftists can take advantage of those things, as shown by the "uncommitted" votes going on now.

We're still pretty much all going to vote. Electoralism is a decent strategy if you only think about it one day a year, rather than put all of your time into thinking about it.
