Right now, we have /c/Introductions, but it only has one post from nearly a year ago. Would be cool if those who wanted to introduce themselves knew that there was a place where they can.

How might we implement this if we wish to do it? I think when you sign up, there is no post sign up message or screen, and I don't believe you can prescribe or suggest communities without home brewing the solution.

Email is optional, so we can't rely on a post sign up / approval email to catch everyone.

It could be included in the sign-up page its self.

Or it could be included in the sidebar of the site too.

Just some thoughts, not a bad idea IMO.

Edit: A post approval PM with some welcome information that includes a link to the introduction comm would also work.

Good ideas! I don't know the ins and outs of how Lemmygrad operates when someone joins, but whatever makes the most sense works.

Since we follow the base lemmy release without modifications, this would have to be submitted on the Lemmy github in the issues tab https://github.com/LemmyNet/lemmy/issues

note there's also lemmy-ui for ui changes (that don't touch the backend) https://github.com/LemmyNet/lemmy-ui/issues
