One thing I really liked about Chinese TV (not streaming) was that ads were only shown in a big block in between shows, so you'd have like a 50 minute episode, 5-10 minutes of straight up ads, then the next show. A lot better than having multiple ad segments in the middle of a program.

Exactly. It really takes out the immersion when you're watching something, then an ad starts screaming at you randomly
I don't understand these words. So they've got subscription tv services, like netflix, and the price is...being reduced? It is less than it was before? That doesn't seem possible. Pretty sure the price only ever goes up, while the service has fewer and fewer decent shows over time. That's how it's supposed to work.
Must be nice.
