Been thinking about this since yesterday: food stall prices at bon odori are almost the same as, or even higher than donki's prices. And the food quality is meh while some of them are really bad(~~sry Ipoh lang very high standards~~). Maybe next year I should propose to my friends that we each bring something that can be shared with each other like some katsu, okonomiyaki, takayoki etc. from donki and probably some pizza/sandwiches + drinks/dessert.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 year ago

Yeah, the price there is really jacked up probably due to the rental, and the food is okay okay only, but i like your idea of bringing your own stuff to picnic there 🙈

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Gotta make up for the free entry. So... bento next year? 😅

The only things that are priced the same as outside were Tealive and their equivalents.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Yeah most probably. I talked over it with one of my friends earlier to see what she thinks and she agreed cause we're both Ipoh lang picky eaters. XD

I was actually thinking of cooking maggi before departing yesterday LOL. The maggi would have tasted better than the takoyaki I bought T_T

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Oof, that's setting the bar really low XD

Maggi kari with bits of chicken and tau fu pok?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Haha, that takayoki I ate was really one of the worst takayoki I have eaten in my whole life so even plain maggi would have been better 🤣

Urgh, don't feel like waking up _(´ཀ`」 ∠)_

Also damn i dropped my phone yesterday, the vibration motor isn't working and i thought only that thing damaged, but last night wanna charge phone and i realised i can't charge it as well. And the bottom speaker not working, and probably the mic as well. And the battery is bloated.

What luck uhuk _(´ཀ`」 ∠)_

edit: hmm, as i suspect, apparently when the phone battery bloated it ripped off and bend off the ribbon connector for the lower half of the phone, so i might have to have it fixed at the shop asap. how annoying

edit2: after bending all the pin back and reconnected(except a few pin that broke off), i able to restore all the functionality of the bottom panel...except the usb port. of all the thing i can do without, it has to be the charging port...

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Oh shoot. New phone shopping?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Change part already, no new phone 🙈

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

That was quick…. DIY?

It sounded like many things needed replacement

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago

Ahh, no, went to a shop to get it done. It only need battery and ribbon connector change. Rm180 for both including labour, even though the part is below rm100 but hey, they get thing done quick, can't complain.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I dropped my phones all the time and never had any issue tho. No case?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Could be just the build quality, had case. Or just my luck lol

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

maybe you can share the phone brand, so we can all avoid it 🤔

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

I think it's really a chain of event that cause this so it might not applied to all the other phone in the line though. I left my phone on my car seat one time with direct sunlight, that might've cause the battery to bloated up and i didn't realize it, which strain the ribbon's connector. That drop is the final tug that pull the connector off i believe.

Poco x3 pro btw

Hi I’m creating a community for people that enjoy the following noises:

  1. Brapppppp
  2. Stustustu
  3. Pshhhhhh
  4. Brap Brap Brapp Brapp
  5. Duuuduuuduuduu

yea they’re car sounds not farting sounds. Creating one, totally not because cars don’t fit under transport community considering the anti-car attitude there

Car enthusiasts, what do you wish to see being discussed on the car community? I can think of the following:

  1. Car Memes
  2. Car Reviews and Discussion
  3. Car Purchase decisions?
  4. EV Discussion
  5. Car Mods and Restoration
  6. Owners Review?
  7. Personal opinion pieces?

And also, non-car enthusiasts do you see yourself subscribing if you’re not interested in cars? If no, what can make you participate on a regular basis?

Will also need volunteers to mod. Tho it should be easy given the traffic on monyet.cc is fairly low, will be even lower on a niche community.

i wan to know more about recon cars, how to get some versions that you cant get from MY distributor. like Mazda MX-5 soft top 😑

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (1 children)

Yeah that’s a good idea.

Maybe you can try UK recon? Just make sure it’s an ND2 lol. ND1 2.0L is very half baked, really rushed when they developed it and only 6800rpm redline and a lot less power

Also, if your concern is weight, and you really have struggle finding soft top, there’s always the option of changing to lighter forged wheels like TC105X, the unsprung mass shaved should be equivalent to the perceived savings of 40kg~ of sprung mass

I probably won’t modify much

Famous last words before people start modifying 😅

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

To be clear, !transport is not anti-car, it's pro-public transport and cycling. To promote public transit, cycling, and other modes of transportation, I feel that de-emphasizing cars is unfortunately required.

If I allow car talks like new models/make, mods etc. there those will dominate the discussions on the community, and reinforces the idea that you need to have a car to go anywhere, totally defeating the aforementioned goals.

Plus, I think enthusiasts-specific discussions are better done on their own communities anyway, not just cars, but trains, motorcycles, bicycles, etc as well. Folks who are into those sorts of things are welcomed to create communities for those. :)

Lastly, !transport allows posts on highways and traffic as it's used by all, including people on public transport (e.g. city buses and intercity coaches). (EDIT: ride-sharing and e-hailing topics are also allowed.)

Hope this comment clarifies my position.

sorry, I should have clarified myself - anti-car discussions* as in discussions about cars are forbidden and understandably so. I did mention that it is not suitable to host such content over there, people that are super passionate about public transport will not be the type of people that enjoy car ownership experience or even driving.

By the way, does !transport allow news about ride sharing, or news about the e-hailing space in Malaysia in general, given how it's a popular form of transportation?

Sure! 😁

Is RM480 per month including water and electric for a studio room in Kapar good?

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 year ago

Not sure about the price there, but having an entire studio with the utilities included does sound good.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago

Damn annoyed, tried to clean the aircon filter but couldn’t put it back in. Apparently the cooling fins are bent upwards and they are protruding. I can take out but can’t put back in.

Who tf design an aircon and literally only leave a few mm gap between the cooling fins and the air filter thingy??

My room’s aircon is another brand (Mitsubishi) and the design is so much better.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Whew, what a crowd for 2023's Bon Odori. Thank goodness for the shuttle bus

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Yeah, my friends wanted to park at/near the stadium but we decided to park at the ktm station instead because there were already too many cars at the stadium lol.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Smart. The cops were also on the prowl

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

any car enthusiasts here? not one myself but you guys think ioniq 6 dead on arrival with its pricing versus the model y?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Ioniq 6 is also competing with German compact luxury segment, ie. 330i, C200 etc… most probably it’s DOA lol.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

yea if i was in the market for an ev, as much as i like the ioniq 6 it just doesn't make sense to get that when i could get the model y right? and this is despite tesla's qc issues that i read about often. you mentioning it competes with the compact luxury segment also makes a lot of sense lol. how did they screw up the pricing this badly

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (1 children)

Ioniq 5 would be a very good choice, reasonably priced. Better looking too and is an SUV which many people value

Malaysians are very brand conscious most would probably still get Tesla tho at more or less the same price.

Compact luxury segment at that price point are too good I have to say. Not cheap but if I had to spend 260k on a brand new car my money will go to the German ICEs. C Class and 3 series are tried and tested recipe after so many generations

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

dont like suvs so not for me. but yea, at 300k may as well get those german cars

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (1 children)

and if it's just a toy add RM30k you can get recon 2020 GR Supra already lol, which in theory is the cheapest inline 6 car, german some more.

heck even the 2020 M340i is like 310k.... yeah you're right it's DoA lol.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

stop... its already dead!

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Someone described our relationship with the extremist right in this country as an abusive relationship.

Considering everything the arts and LGBTQ communities have gone through post-MCO, I think about that a lot.

Headache from yesterday's still lingering. MSG laden miso soup can't fuck me up that bad, can it?

I'm starting to think it's the construction fumes I had to inhale on the way to the mall that did it.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Woah, that bad? Got take med?

[–] [email protected] -1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I've been gobbling uphamol 650's 🤒

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago

get well soon

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

I can get headache too sometimes the next day when eating super salty food. So now I would always not eat if I feel that the food too salty.
