Machines in NY are rejecting paper ballots. It's a significant race. Last update caused the issue, machines that weren't updated are fine. They're trying to fix it and using emergency ballots in the mean time. It could just be nothing, but it made the hair on my neck stand up.
post
I just got a message from a friend in North Carolina that she was going to her rural polling place and the local sheriff had a road block up about a mile from the polling place. They were checking drivers licenses and IDs.
This is obviously hearsay, but she got a picture of the road block and I encouraged her to post it on Reddit (she isn't aware of lemmy), report it to the local news, and the NC election board.
A Kansas city news station says Leavenworth county ran out of ballots and was turning people away.
I'm hearing about a whole bunch of feds being deployed to polling sites as "observers.". I haven't heard of them doing anything other than "observing," yet.
I recommend voting, even if you get observed in the process.
Edit: the threats and intimidation against the CA election workers are currently prohibited by court order. A court in DC has ordered that the "observers" may do no more than just that.
2nd edit: if you see irregularities at the polls, call the ACLU Election Protection Hotline.

Tomorrow I expect corruption reports to begin and continue all month. This post breaks rule 6 tho.
There's this: The 9th Circuit (en blanc panel -- subpanel of 11 judges) has paused a federal judge's order prohibiting the Trump administration from threatening election officials with prosecution. The only way to counteract it now is to take it to the Supremes (which isn't likely)
Edit: I guess not a big deal, but still causes confusion:
As for "what does this mean," it means that, for now, there's no court order in California barring Trump administration officials from "investigating" allegations of noncitizen voting (but also no order requiring California to do anything, either).
The only way to counteract it now is to take it to the Supremes (which isn't likely)
Technically, there is an alternative option to request "super" en banc with all 29 judges. But the 9th circuit has never once granted super en banc in the entire history of super en banc.
This case got really unlucky with the 11 judge panel lottery: 5 Trump appointees out of 11 plus one judge from the original 3-judge panel.
No idea. I checked the status of my ballot, which I emailed directly to the county a few days ago and found it was accepted and tabulated. At least WA does things right.
Westchester County in NY apparently had an absurd snafu with the paper they printed ballots on.
NY-17 results may not be available for a few days.
They're collecting fake data to make up complaints that the machines weren't right. We'll see how bad it gets after results come out.
