I always wondered how they get shipped.

Apparently (support-) animal welfare prevails

are they even vacuumable? Do they get damaged hurt? Tap for spoilerFrom personal testing I found out that some sharkies do enjoy vacuum sealing for easier private transport, with no indication of damage or quality loss. I originally planned on buying them offline and needed to check how many might fit in my largest backpack. Before testing, I made sure my personal Blahash consented.

(I promised to give them away in our local trans group, so I cannot into blahaj pit space 😭).

A cartoon box full of freshly shipped IKEA BLÅHAJ plushie sharks, both large and small, 5 in total. The box also contains some unimportant lunchboxes. The stuffed plushie sharks are neither wrapped in extra packaging, nor vacuum sealed, nor is there any other filling material in the box (wouldn't be necessary to begin with, as the BLÅHAJs sufficiently provide padding themselves).

I can assure you that they enjoy getting vacuum packed and would do it in their free time if they could operate a vacuum cleaner with their fins

I decided years ago that it's Blah Hadsch, the swedes had plenty of time to lodge a formal complaint.

But even in German it's just pronounced Blåhaj.

Sure, -aj would usually be written -ai despite being pronounced the same and å only exists in South German dialects (why the fuck not North German btw???) but still.

  • iam only hear for the general silliness and the tomfoolery, there is neither rhyme nor reason.

other than that, I've never heard a single swedsih word being spoken and lost all my doubts about pronounciation after learning how native english speakers pronounce the name of those guys:

so i just go with what sounds the most fun.

The pronounciation plans and the legislative drafts where on display for 50 earth years, its far too late to start making a fuss about it now.

on display, yeah... i had to go to the ikea in haparanda, complete the furniture maze, and dig the plans out of an overfilled plushie bin with a sign on it that said "beware the shonk"

I like to think of it as a running gag that everybody does it slightly differently. When I'm with friends, I intentionally pronounce it /ˈblɑːhɑːʒ/ (inspired by the name Raj) though you can think of it as the personal name of my only BLÅHAJ.
