Ok. First thing to remember here is that it's a board game. For children.

Second thing to keep in mind is Robin Williams survives alone in the jungle for decades with absolutely no survival skills whatsoever.

Jumanji is a game about thrills. It will scare you, bring you as close to annihilation as possible, but in the end, it will not kill you.

Jumanji will not let you die when trapped inside it.

Imo the dead player would be considered "eliminated from the game" and the remaining players would just continue to play.

If someone wins then the dead player will be brought back to life since time reverts to just before the game was started. If everybody dies then the same reset would happen.

None of this is cannon or mentioned anywhere in the movie but just how it seems that scenario would play out.

I thought they just died and that was the risk of playing 🤔

Well it would be assumed the player would be eliminated and would remain dead until someone wins the game. Obviously it's just speculation but I'd guess it would take a hostage and find a way to find a new player to reach the desired number of players.

I think you've got it. But I wonder if it would need to find another player to replace that one. The game is clearly trying to kill you, but would it consider the player eliminated and skip their turn when they die?

Trying to is a hard thing to define in the game. The fact that it can flat out rewrite time shows an absurd amount of power, while I didn't watch the sequels I'm assuming it's motives aren't known, and the fact that it has as much power as it does, and never resulted in killing a player, and in fact due to time travel schenanigans actually saved 2 lives would lead me to believe that it could be all knowing and altruistic.

Or possibly just neutral, or a game for survival training. Maybe everyone dying is just "losing", which would also trigger a rewind and reset just like winning does.

On the opposite end, what would happen if 2 players in the game had a baby?
