I recently bought a IdeaPad i5 slim laptop, it works fine until I dual boot it with Linux, it cannot detect any kind of HDMI external display, I have tried 2 monitors and a TV and have no luck. And also there is weird behaviour where the Laptop will not use the external display while booting and only show the Lenovo splash screen on the laptop screen. And only switch to using the external display when Windows arrive to the sign in screen. This info maybe helpful

Have you checked that your onboard graphics drivers are up to date for your Linux installation? That'd be my first bet.

Depends on your distro. What operating system are you on?
