Sounds like he had pre written talking points about fuel prices before the iran war started, and he was like fuck it I'm not going to change them!

Christ, does anyone want to start a small fund to pay me to go ask these assholes these questions?

Cops like to hit women but let's see them go after a middle-aged, conservative-looking white dude with privilege.

I'd really rather just ask them tough questions on camera, because someone fucking has to.

I live in a red area of a not-red state and these people, my neighbors? Most of them aren't intentionally evil. They're propagandized because they don't ever see any actual news about politics.

As a former Republican: Most Republican voters would not vote for Republicans if they had accurate information about both parties.

I saw the clips of that on Internet Today last night. Jesus Christ what an embarrassment to the species. I've seen 5 year olds with better reasoning skills.

maga has always tried to make it seem like their views and policies are reasonable and both sides deserve equal weight. It's a step on the way to critical thinking but they never reach it. The next step is analyze the outcomes and data and causes to come to an informed and accurate conclusion. The maga pointed at all the wrong stuff instead of the real blame, the tariffs and the war for all the higher prices. What a sick excuse to want more pollution for people in the areas near data centers and industrial areas. We deserve cleaner air, land and water, not worse, not regression. The maga way is unacceptable to healthy humanity. Do better!

Shortly after the debate, Harris, a staunch MAGA Republican who has avoided in-person town halls since 2023, tried to get a reporter arrested for recording his speech to a group of journalists.

Nothing in the article or subsequent links indicate that he actually managed this. The Twitter-link just has him making idle threats about referring a random person with a cell phone camera to a prosecutor. There was no follow-up to determine if a complaint was filed or a prosecutor contacted.

I do think it's glaring to see a sitting Congressman outright admit intent to conspire with state prosecutors for a malicious misuse of power. But unless he followed through... No different than a guy standing in front of an ATM while announcing, "You owe me money and I'm going to break you open to get it".

Who says there would be a record for you to check? You think he's filing a police report? The victim would just be arrested later on some made up unrelated bullshit, their house will be ransacked, dogs shot, car impounded. Of course the charges will be dropped but he point is the same: This is what happens if you fuck with me.

Why the fuck would you say those threats are idle?

It's almost astounding how much of a joke America is today

We need to stop treating it like a joke and instead start treating it as a threat. Things are not going to get better if we don't start doing something about it. Voting is a start. Other countries need to stop complying. Introduce sanctions. Register trump and his administration a terrorist group. Do literally anything other than wait and hope it fixes itself.

I'm not in America. My country and its citizens already treat it as a threat largely. It's still a joke of a country regardless.

Joke is putting it lightly and can be easily brushed off. Its much more serious and needs to be treated like a threat against humanity.

I don't know what the point of your reply is. I understand the president of the country I'm in is a terrorist. I don't support it. I also don't support other countries giving into his every whim.

Im sick of people saying it's a joke and not doing anything to stop it. It's affecting the world, not just the failure that America is.

Yep, and we have not even begun changing course on being a joke. Its still full speed ahead. The republicans are still evil and clueless and the dems have changed nothing since Biden/Harris shat the bed and lost. Even out of power the Dems are delivering on their promise that "nothing will fundamentally change".

No politicians from either party ever mention the Mossad Epstein operation, or the Palestinian, Syrian, and Lebanese holocaust either. Not a single word in years.

Did he? Its hard to tell because I'm getting real tired of Biden/Harris/Trumps versions of "winning". For the love of god can the centrists stop this "winning"? Just go back to the stuff the voters actually want, like ending genocide support, end collusion with the kleptocrats, pay attention to civil rights, and prosecute the effing pedo Epstein criminals.

Did Biden get any of that done? Last I heard he was ending 'occupy' and 'defund' and boosting cop funding as an eff-you-for-bringing-even-iit-up, and assuring the elite that "nothing will fundamentally chAnge" electing him over trump. And it sure seems like the current centrist dem leadership is ditching LGBTQ and continuing to ignore the genocide while tickling the balls of the kleptocrats. Newsom is a top candidate for president and he is nuking tax increases for the rich while trying to enshrine laws that we are necver allowed to propose a wealth tax again (prop 42). Is this what winning looks like to you and the the Dem leadership? You seem to be their spokesman and cheerleader, want to comment?

Wait wait hang on...are the rest of them like this? Can we just get brave journalists with integrity to ask them basic uncomfortable questions (and bring lawyers along!) and they'll just...throw a little tantrum , say a ton of stupid shit and just leave?

That's gotta be great for their campaigning.

Man. We gotta do this across the country! Imagine the excellent footage waiting to be mined for entertainment and democracy!

So yeah! Like, hear me out: The collective knowledge, logic, and wit of The Daily Show, but directed right at their faces for all to see.

They call out the hypocrisy, they call out the bullshit, and they ask the inconvenient questions.

Look at what Jon Stewart has done for the 9/11 first responders and veterans the government decided to just discard and ignore.

We need stuff like that. (Selfish of me, but sometimes wish we could practically drag him into the oval office lol.)

You're right, the shows themselves basically just rally their pre-existing audience, and at worst, act as a form of catharsis that gives the sense that something is already being done. (Entertaining though, love them.)

But what if they were everywhere? If they were present outside of our half of the reality bubble? I think that could be a real force for good.

They have a lot of leverage to cut through the bullshit, especially if it gets a good laugh, and if there's one thing fascists can't handle, it's being laughed at.

He says: "Do you believe in the First Amendment?! Do you believe in my First Amendment right to express myself?!"

Hey asshole Republican, read the First Amendment please. Here I'll help you: Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

The people laughing at you aren't the government. They didn't even stop you physically from trying to utter your garbage. They just laughed at you. You stopped talking yourself. The First Amendment doesn't mean people have to listen to you, and it certianly doesn't shield you from being laughed at when you say stupid shit.

Mr. Republican, the fact that you don't know how the First Amendment to the US Constitution works should disqualify you from holding the office where your oath includes: "I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic;"

How can you swear to support and defend the Constitution when you haven't even read the thing?

    From the article:

“This is the problem,” Harris complained to the crowd. “You all say you believe there’s a First Amendment, but only if you agree with you. You should let me finish the sentence, ma’am. You are rude!”

Quite literally thinks it's his first amendment right not to get shouted at when complete horse shit comes from his mouth.

Everybody needs to see that second video, where he demands that only a specific reporter isn't allowed to record him because it's a two party state, and he doesn't give HER permission, even though it's a public forum, and there are a dozen other reporters recording. And then he demands an officer come over and arrest her for violating the two party recording law, before walking away, telling the other reporters to blame HER for not getting their uncomfortable questions answered.

What a coward, and a MAGA Traitor Pedophile.
