I've been job hunting for months and you won't believe how often I've had the exact same reply of "ohh this doesn't reflect your skills we just wanted someone who matches our expectations more" ITS INSANE.
Don't fucking sugar coat it just tell me what's wrong so I can improve further applications ongg. But if you're searching for someone with 5 years experience with <specific technology/field> and I bring 8+ and I'm still not good enough, I don't believe you.

Well one is "shit. Time to apply to another 500 jobs to get another interview"
While the other is "hurray, I won't be going homeless this year. Time to sell my soul for barely enough to live"
I was looking for a job and then I found a job
and heaven knows I'm miserable now
Ha ha, both are bad news. We need to make our own businesses and shun corporations.
Escape the corporation by becoming the corporation. I see some possibilities for problem recreation here…
Make all corporations worker owned cooperatives though…now we talkin’.
That is the point, benefit corporations of sorts. Where the only reason for being is not the profit motive alone.
Achieving a social need, operating ethically to workers, not polluting, growing the business as needed, and returning investors a fair share of return should all be factors. I could say a lot more about this, and I will later through some other handles.
Have you picked the right career for you if you get sad when you land a job? I was over the moon when I got my current job
Not everybody has a career, people just have jobs
An old boss of mine called them "Jobby Jobs". Just a a job that gets your bills paid and nothing more. Ive been using that phrase since.
Oh yeah, lemme go to the viable career library and get a viable career making a living wage doing something both meaningful and, interesting and not soul crushing
