Speaking as that guy who takes giant armfuls of things in the name of "getting it all done in one trip", but takes three times as long because he keeps dropping things and his hands are too full to turn door latches: OMG I need two of these. I'd call them my seahorse trousers.

Guess I'm old. The first thing that popped in mind: Can you machine wash the whole thing?

It's a good idea in theory, but what could I put in there that wouldn't swing around while walking? At a certain point, your pants falling down from the weight becomes a risk.

Something like this on a belt or LBV would be awesome though. One big empty GP pouch is an underrated item in the field; one that collapses down would be very useful

Fair points. That's why I added a strap running inside the pocket to cinch contents to the leg. The fabric is also thick enough to hold its shape to some degree so it won't swing too wildly for medium weight items. But if you want a general purpose folding pouch for your belt, you can buy what is called a "dump pouch" πŸ‘

Edit: also the pants falling down is remedied with a belt or suspenders, just like with regular cargo pants.

Sweet. I'd love some of these for my cargo pants.

Though, why are you wearing gloves? 😳 caught my eye more than the useful work you made lol

  • BUT you can't tell their race, or see any identifying tattoos, etc, and cameras these days are actually good enough to pull fingerprints from in some cases.

That said, the camera lens itself likely has enough aberrations to forensically track too, so like, if OP is murdering women and sending pics to cops he's gonna need a second phone or the classic choice, a polaroid, but for posting pants pics online? This should be good enough.

It would be better if it was higher up. Whatever in there will swing from walking

Fair, but I did add a strap running inside the pocket to allow cinching the contents to the leg. I guess I chose the placement so that when folded up, the pocket is positioned like a normal cargo pocket and doesn't look out of place.

IMHO (where H stands for "humble" rather than "honest" ...still honest too..): function over form. If it works better higher, who cares if they don't mirror positions of Tradβ„’ cargo pockets?! New style is born, cargo pockets were new once themselves.

Also: Integrated dump pouch? Yes please. With a little workshopping (lift the position, fabric: cordura ripstop, integrated knee pad system [sewn in, or pockets/sell inserts, or make them fit Crye's or someone's], maybe a few more considerations), there's a market for this.

I made another prototype you might appreciate: customizable cargo pants. Place the pockets anywhere on the pant leg. Any size, type, or number of pockets you like. All through the magic of MOLLE/PALS. I'll post a pic tomorrow πŸ‘
