They'll turn whichever way AIPAC tells them to, I guess.

  • Gottheimer: $2.3m
  • Scholten: $413k
  • Moskowitz: $833k
  • Suozzi: $605k

    From Wikipedia:

Gottheimer's net worth was between $16.9 and $75.3 million in 2023, and he and his wife Marla Tusk, who is general counsel at the political consulting firm Tusk Strategies, reported $897,617 in joint income

    AIPAC isnt the only reason.

For some reason, AIPAC decided to be against socialism too. I'm sure they yelling "and stay poor you peasants!" is a very productive complement to their main goal of assuring every Palestine is dead.

Aipac serves the interest of israel, that includes any politician they can get to vote for them, also being beneficiaries of the MIC is a plus to Israel without having them investing in thier own weapons tech themselves, by default also thier healthcare.

Ironic that the reason they're doing this is that socialists keep getting democratically voted in

The Democrats are generally pro capitalism. They're just, currently, less aggressively racist and sexist and stupid. They should be the right wing party. The Republicans should be in jail.

The Republicans should be in jail executed.

Fixed that for you. Traitors deserve execution.

Well let's not say anything too outrageous here. They need to be tried in a court first, convicted, which should be a slam dunk, then imprisoned for life or executed. We still have laws, its just that no one has been following those laws-- from either party, or in the supreme court, so we'll need the ICC's help to sort this especially as it involves crimes against humanity. We need to sign onto that court-- it might literally save the country. We already had US laws against shipping weapons to genocidal regimes before this all started and that didnt stop either party. The dems who allowed those shipments should be in chains and awaiting their day in court right next to trumps war criminal cabal. Theres still a way out of all of this, although I dont have much faith that our country will find its way toward actual honorable justice.

It's not outrageous. It's what The Constitution dictates for High Treason and Sedition. Which I argue the Republicans are guilty of and then some.

Republicans deserving execution should be the default position at this point, we should normalize it.

I dont disagree with your wanting to see accountability and you make a good point about normalizing it. But as cops know and exploit, the idea of acting in the interest of justice and going through the motions puts people at ease and in line with letting it play out. So its useful.

Democrat socialists of America. They're a political party inside the Democrat party that's focused of progressive politics. They all refuse AIPAC donations, condemn Israel's genocide, want to tax the rich, and basically do everything government is supposed to.

Mamdani, Abdul El-Sayed, and the like are part of it I believe.

They want to form their own political party but understand in America people basically will not vote third party so they're trying to do a massive coup and push Democrat party hard left. They've been getting some massive wins recently too.

    Whew.

No. It's not inside the Democratic party. DSA is a separate organization that will endorse and support candidates. It's a big tent and there's a lot of competing politics. Chapters report to national and chapters are typically at the city level.

DSA is in the process of nominating progressives in all sorts of local and national elections. But DSA is more than electoral politics. You will find mutual aid, outreach and other activities in that org.

Source: me. Join your local DSA. Or start your own chapter.

Well then they really need to work on unifying their messaging among their local chapters because that's not how they sell themselves around me at all.

I mean, no. The local chapters have quite a lot of autonomy. Which is a good thing.

The DSA has a lot of factions and basically no barrier to entry. You're going to find all types. Some of them run food distributions and scream at any passing cop. Some of them are into getting even centrist dems elected. And there's a lot of problems with more centralized national organizing.

When Democrats do this to Trump: "Oooh a strongly worded letter! They need to actually do something."

  • [–] 2 points 1 week ago

Yep but they roll out all the dirty tricks during primaries. Everything from fake mailers to outright racism to fake identity politics bs, depending on which individual progressive they're trying to sabotage.

But as soon as it's the general, it's all about taking the high road. Fucking traitors
