thats_a_bad_idea on YouTube is a great one!
+1 for Well There's Your Problem
From the Trash Future/Lions Led By Donkeys/Kill James Bond group of folks, extremely leftist and dark comedy takes on engineering disasters, with slides
I"m not sure how much stuff out there counts as far left to you, but Doobus Goobus is very funny, and generally seems to come down on the right side of things.
You might be familiar with "States rights to do what???"
The channel looks good. Never heard of him, thanks!
Not explicitly YouTube, but anything by Dropout.tv. They used to be CollegeHumor and have transcended the humor and format of the old YT days and have created their own streaming service with incredible original content. Here's a clip of famous Dungeon Master Brennan Lee Mulligan "defending" everyone's favorite space pedophile.
Much of their humor is general improv comedy but there's plenty of leftism thrown in. They're rad.
ETA: For context, the clip I linked, the game is that the 3 players offstage are attempting to play a bingo game using the players on stage, by giving them "prompts" (i.e., "Go on Instagram Live and defend Elon Musk") to make them say words and phrases that they say often. Brennan often complains about capitalism and billionaires, so Mike Trapp is trying to get Brennan to do just that. Hilarity ensues.
I came here to say exactly this
Maaaaan, I loved dropout.tv! I was really bummed about the cop show cameo stuff though. it was hard to stop watching but I just don't support shilling for the police in any capacity. Great group of talented entertainers though.
...The Rookie is copaganda? lol I don't think Dropout are shills for police, given how left-leaning they openly are. Seems like an overreaction.
Anything depicting cops in a positive light 100% of the time is copaganda. But I agree just being on ONE show isn't really an endorsement of the police. If anything, it's an endorsement of Nathan Fillian. I wouldn't be surprised if Brennan was a Firefly fan.
Watch the episode of Ted where Brennan DMs a D&D session for the main cast instead.
You might like Adam Conover. He mostly does interviews on his show called Factually, but he is a comedian by trade so it has that vibe.
I really like him as a person, and agree with nearly everything he says/does. I just don't find him funny. I really want, but just don't
Some More News is kinda like the Colbert Report, but rather it's a deep dive on a single topic about the latest news
The team is hilarious and Mr Cody's delivery is 11/10.
I fucking hate ads but I honestly watch a lot of theirs bc they even do those hilariously. I miss watching Mr Cody slam AG1.
The only problem I have is that sometimes I don’t think late stage capitalism is funny and I end up not watching this, daily show or Colbert for months.
Hmm, I only know one person that calls the News Dude "Mr Cody". That person also disappeared for months recently. Warmbo is that you?
Cody & Katy are great. Jonathan is also there and great.
My day just isn't complete if Jonathan isn't also there
Also showing love for Some More News. It’s run by some golden age Cracked alumni.
The onion now owns Alex Jones Info wars, and is hosted by Tim Heidecker who does a pretty good Alex jones voice, and Jim Haggerty who has this conspiracy laced spin off show named after himself. Worth checking out if you're a fan of the onion humor.
Man Carrying Thing. ThePlantSlant123/Liam.
Both are great. Man Carrying Thing does long form about books and short form sketches about pop culture and politics.
I also quite like SellswordArts, while not inherently political, are at least woke and support LGBTQ+? To go along with that we have some other short-form content creators that worked on MinMaxed (their D&D podcast), which I haven’t personally listened to, but has solid reviews. Blumineck and Bensai are the other ones that I regularly watch. Not much of their long form content, however.

Dude's not even overtly far left. He just takes the piss out of people who happen to be stupid in a particular fashion
Back in 2016 he mag-dumped on the Clinton campaign and said something to the effect of "I suppose this has many of you wondering where my loyalties lie. I'm just going say that's how I prefer it"
I mean, a lot of the long form YouTubers are anti fascist in their stances but that's not all they cover
Hbomberguy, folding ideas, etc
It’s been so long since Hbomb dropped a new video. 😭
PhilosophyTube, Contrapoints, Lindsey Ellis are all ones I would recommend too.
Not sure about the political leanings, but I also really like Sarah Z and Jenny Nicholson for essayists. I also quite liked Cinema Therapy, but that’s more of a reaction channel with a focus on mental health than anything else. Not particularly antifa afaik, but empathy is cool, yo.
Hbomb JUST put out his adobe video on Patreon. It's SO GOOD!
Yes on all of those other recommendations
Sweet! Thanks for letting me know.
The old Cracked crew has broken off into a few different factions. Some More News and Small Beans are pretty lefty comedy.
RamaLauw They'r on shorts, reels and tiktok and do very fun and somewhat cringe commercials about things that are normalize but shouldn't be.
Nathan_ing is also on tiktok and shorts and they poke fun at alpha bros and promote equality with their duets.
If you speak german and are on tiktok I'd also recommend cecinha.030, she does this character where she acts like a toxic alpha bro but as a woman.
I know this is probably for english speakers but if you speak french, a bunch of comedians of Radio Nova fall into that category.
The go off kings are funny
Wizards With Guns and Almost Friday TV are the two funniest sketch channels on YouTube imo
I'm a fan of many of the channels mentioned here.
I'd like to add Though Slime. It's a masterclass in sarcasm apart from anything else.
I also enjoy Private Eye Magazine for a more UK point of view. Their 'Year In Review' bits are really good.
I'll plug Internet Today every chance I get. They are criminally undersubscribed.
As an Aussie, I can also recommend friendlyjordies, although he can be a bit of a mixed bag.
Not sure I'd call these especially 'left wing' — I'm really kind of starting to detest labels like left/right wing, to be honest — but they are definitely on the side of truth and reason, and mocking idiots.
The Skepticrat just started doing video recently, they're great (and actually funny).
The whole Nate Bethea universe of podcasts seems to be doing good.
You have Trashfuture, Lions Led By Donkeys, Well There's Your Problem, Kill James Bond, and even semi related podcasts like Failure To Launch.
Most of these are on YT, they a quite funny, and clearly on the left side politically.
