Rational people are saying it would be bad if nukes are used.

A lot of people in this thread seem to dismiss the threat of Trump using nuclear weapons.
I guess now is a good time to remind everyone that during Trump 1.0, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Mark Milley took steps to prevent Trump from misusing the country's nuclear arsenal.
The pertinent question is if Trump 2.0 has someone looking to intercept any orders from Trump to launch nuclear weapons.
He not only wanted to use them but use them on a hurricane. Turning something already terrible into something a lot worse.

I wouldn't put this past Trump. He is irrational, cannot accept failure and likes his big showy spectacles like using B2 bombers to attack Fordow and Natanz last year.
He has been going non-stop about how Iran "cannot have a nuclear weapon" and Israel firsters like Mark Levin and Lindsey Graham have been drawing parallels with Japan in 1945 for a while.
Trump restarted the B61 gravity bomb programme which sits outside the nuclear triad and can be dropped by F15 and F35 jets. Apparently Centcom already have them.
At the same time Hegseth has been purging Generals who have been urging caution.
The likely target would be the nuclear facilities under Pickaxe Mountain which would be a one and done affair and would allow Trump to declare a victory ahead of the midterms.
Obviously this would open up an escalation shitstorm and solve nothing but it's clear from the war of aggression he launched against Iran that Trump has an optimism bias and doesn't think things through.

If it's just her that's saying it without any evidence. But it's no secret Trump has said before he'd use nukes, even asked why have them if we can't use them. It's why the end of season one of "Years and Years" hit so hard, because it's totally conceivable. The real question should be does he have enough people between him and the button to prevent him from doing yet another stupid thing. There's far too many yes-men and bootlickers to comfortably say that him throwing a little fit can't result in disaster. It seems it's happened a lot, just none with nuclear weapons yet.

Yes we know the United States has nukes as does a lot of other countries. Existence does not mean there is any actual threat of their use. The one is talking about using nukes of around or anywhere else.

Trump doesn't know how to launch the missiles though does he, it's the military high command that know how to launch the missiles and they're not going to do that.
His current biggest military concern is apparently his irrational fear of electromagnetics, you don't seriously think they're going to redesign the navel vessels be you? They are just going to do their standard thing where they dynamically do nothing, until he forgets about it, which as long as no one brings it up again should be about a week.
