There is no point to get a lower speed than 5600, as it will very likely simply not work. Based on community experience, as far as we know, the Framework is only compatible with 5600 and will refuse to boot lower speeds.
Framework
Discussion around the Framework mission of building products that last longer by making them upgradeable, customizable, and repairable. Consumer electronics can be better for you and for the environment.
The only folks I’ve seen post on here that are running speeds other than 5600MT/s are also reporting RAM issues.
That doesn’t mean it can’t work, but I’d gladly pay the 40% premium to have a supported experience. If you do have issues you could end up buying or at least finding 5600MT/s memory before an RMA is accepted, if it comes to that.
If you’re buying 32gb the difference is around an Andrew Jackson. That’s a lot of risk for $20. Choose wisely!
I hope
4800mhz ram may not work properly so its safer to get the 5600 mhz
To add to this, I was going to buy crucial 5600 memory, but in its blip it talks about how to achieve this memory, your mother board needs to support / enabled something something something.
So don't cheap out on memory like I want to. Samsung or hynix brand name.
