I would go to Apple's homepage and read all about it there.

If you don't find any reason why to get an Apple Watch, probably it isn't the right device for you.

it could be useful to look at the time and notification without touching my phone but idk if it’s worth it for the price

Just the time and notification? My huawei watch fit new is like £40 and pretty good.

Honestly it’s one of those things where in the beginning it seems dumb but after 6 month you’ll love it. I did not even want one but I got one as a gift and I have been wearing it daily for 4 years. The health tracking being able to see time and schedule at a glance look at notis and more is so nice

If the watch doesn’t touch your patients you should be fine.

You can use it to record voice notes maybe. Or to get notifications about upcoming therapy sessions. You could time each therapy session… idk there’s an infinite number of things you can do with it

The therapists at my hospital all seem to like theirs. Perhaps look for a refurb SE to try it out (relatively) inexpensively.

If you can't think of ways it'll be useful, you don't need one. We as a customer base need to stop buying expensive items just because. That said, if you really want one for good reasons, they're great and I won't tell you otherwise.

Where have you got that statistics in your head?

Where have you got that statistics in your head?

I don't understand the question. What statistics?

I really like that if I sustain a hard fall or if heart goes bonkers it’d call 911 for you. Also the noise detection would incentivize wearing your personal protective gear.

You can get notifications on your wrist for text / email / calls. I like this so I can quickly gauge if it’s a 911 safely cease what you are doing and contact the person or just silliness that can wait for break.

Full disclosure I thought they were neat and got one as a gift & ended up enjoying it more than I thought I would.

Also it tracks how much you are walking in a day so you see why you are tired at night.

FWIW

Stay safe out there

Do you use Apple Pay on your iPhone? If so the apple watch will change your life.

I find a lot of value in “Siri set an 90 minute ‘laundry’ timer” etc. As small of a thing as that it, not having to pull out my phone ever time I set a timer (and I set many through my day for various things) is awesome.

Given you work in PT, it might be useful to, for example, have a 60 minute timer for a given session with a client. Or a 5 minute jump rope timer. Etc etc.

If you like to record your own fitness that’s probably the single most useful thing a watch is good for as well.

Since you’re asking whether an Apple Watch is useful in your line of work, then chances are you don’t need one.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

I'm going to say this is a bad take. Many things in life that you haven't tried can be awesome once you do.

There are several physical therapy apps for the watch that aide in tracking/timing PT exercises from a patient perspective. If you had an apple watch and were familiar with these apps, you could help your apple/smart watch wearing patients use these apps to extend their care outside your office. Like other devices, an Apple/smart watch is another tool to be used how you see fit. How far you take it is only limited by the functionality of the smart watch brand, app, and your imagination.

what's your job or any job has to do with apple watch? I use my apple watch for fitness related thing like workout/sleep tracking/ hr monitoring and at a glance notifications.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

I don't understand why you would care how your own watch work with your work?

I got mine so I could leave my phone locked in my truck and still receive calls and messages from the office. I now can’t imagine my life without it.
