TL;DR: I left my iPad open to a private note about my financial anxieties before marriage, and my fiancée found it. My badly named note made me look way more suspicious than I actually was.

My fiance and I use Notes for everything so I didn't think twice when I handed her my iPad to show her something. I walked away to make coffee and completely forgot I'd left my private notes open instead of the shared one.

The note she saw was basically a running list of financial questions I'd been keeping for myself before bringing them up with her. Things about buying a house, combining finances and a few other what ifs that had been bouncing around in my head.

When I came back, she asked why I had a note that looked like I was preparing for marriage to fail. I realized the title, "Things We Need to Figure Out Before Marriage," sounded way worse than what was actually inside.

We talked it out and she's not upset anymore but I definitely learned that if you're going to keep a private brain dump maybe don't give it the most dramatic title possible.
