Here's another version for you

This one even drive a giant mech.

Is that the 1970s version where his webs are actually semen, and he controls a spiderman voltron mech, and there's like 4 other spidermans, and they have psychic abilities, and they're all fighting over mary jane watson like a carnival prize? But mary jsne is a random japanese woman who wasn't even a redhead?

Was that actually canon, though?

[-] SatyrSack@quokk.au 2 points 19 hours ago

No, the '70s were just a retcon.

It had a shit ton of practical stunts

There's a Spider-Mobile. It was in the Spider-Verse movie in the underground garage with all the extra costumes and stuff. It's been in the comics plenty.

Because he couldn't afford gas so it had to stay parked.

[-] Thassodar@sh.itjust.works 2 points 1 day ago

Was he parked out by the lake? 80 miles from Santa Fe?

[-] tacosanonymous@mander.xyz 2 points 1 day ago

Omz, he stutters like that dune buggy from the Hannah-Barbera cartoon!

[-] Zorque@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago

He also built one with Johnny Storm in the main universe. I think it's at the bottom of the Hudson, though.

Living in New York and driving a car are practically mutually exclusive experiences. I could see Americans who live outside of walkable cities pulling a Westworld.meme when they see such a thing.

[-] Kolanaki@pawb.social 4 points 1 day ago

Pete's lost his ability to sling webs a few times and had to take the bus or a cab in a few forms of media I have seen, like the OG live action show and the animated series.

I reccomend checking out the Spiderverse movie trilogy, if you haven't. Idk about a car but there was definitely a motorcycle in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. Might have been a car. Did Ben Reilly drive a car?

[-] Swaus01@piefed.social 1 points 1 day ago

If this is in the latest movie, he's old enough to drive by then because it's actually three years after high school, right?

No spoilers please

[-] FreshParsnip@lemmy.ca 3 points 1 day ago

I said the Disney Jr version. That's Spidey and his Amazing Friends, where he's a young boy. It's made fir preschool kids

A "Showerthought" is a simple term used to describe the thoughts that pop into your head while you're doing everyday things like taking a shower, driving, or just daydreaming. The most popular seem to be lighthearted clever little truths, hidden in daily life.

Here are some examples to inspire your own showerthoughts:

Rules

  1. All posts must be showerthoughts
  2. The entire showerthought must be in the title
  3. No politics
    • If your topic is in a grey area, please phrase it to emphasize the fascinating aspects, not the dramatic aspects. You can do this by avoiding overly politicized terms such as "capitalism" and "communism". If you must make comparisons, you can say something is different without saying something is better/worse.
    • A good place for politics is c/politicaldiscussion
  4. Posts must be original/unique
  5. Adhere to Lemmy's Code of Conduct and the TOS

If you made it this far, showerthoughts is accepting new mods. This community is generally tame so its not a lot of work, but having a few more mods would help reports get addressed a little sooner.

Whats it like to be a mod? Reports just show up as messages in your Lemmy inbox, and if a different mod has already addressed the report, the message goes away and you never worry about it.
