Possibility? I thought we knew this was happening for real?

Here's a video clip of an interview with Masayoshi Son, the CEO of SoftBank (who is heavily invested in AI) saying he talks to ChatGPT for 2-3 hours every day
It's not just plausible; it's 100% happening. I've seen it with our CEO, with my own eyes. I've seen it reported by other C-Staff in other companies. I've seen CEO's directly requote chatbot results.
It's not a stretch. They've had yes men for decades. AI is the ultimate Yes Man, focus on getting you what you ask for, minimize negativity, ignore the skeletons you're creating.
I've seen the CTO of my company straight up use Claude to respond to slack messages.
Of course they are, LLMs have been optimized for performing the fellatio of c-suites for a reason. Sycophancy might not appeal to you, but who do we all know loves a brown noser?
Snake oil salesmen drinking their own snake oil.
Dirty coporats. I guess ‘ol Johnny Silverhand is gonna have to blow up Arasaka tower again.
Possibility? I think it'd be easier to point out which CEOs weren't making AI decisions based on discussions with chatbots.
The CEO of the company I work for hasn't had an original thought since 2024.
Which is fine — his original thoughts were all garbage anyway.
what's the difference?
people need to stop holding individuals on a pedestal because of wealth/status.
if i came up with the idea for the first internet payment processor, it doesn't mean i know jack fucking shit about anything else in life--it just means i had a good idea; it means i was in the right place at the right time; i was there with the right amount of cash to take advantage of the situation.
i don't care about your opinions on the environment or history or the future of mankind any more than i do the ones coming from the fingers of every know-nothing on social media.
the biggest question is: who the fuck made these people god, or at least the architects of the future, of humanity? did we have a vote on it?
Altman has literally said his plan to become profitable is to build a chatbot good enough and then ask it. And that he can't imagine being a parent without relying on chatgpt for everything
And he got to be in that position of power… how? Makes you wonder what goes on behind the scenes 🧐🤔
my former boss was doing exactly that and I wish I was joking
I saw a Claude log on a screen share yesterday where the dude was seriously using Claude to add two numbers together. This and things much stupider than this have been happening the whole time.
That does not thrill me with confidence for this or any future generation
Hmmm... I use google to do math all the time. It's kinda nice, you can put units in and put the results in in the correct units.
Dude there wasn't any units. This was seriously something you could type into a python repl, an excel cell, or even windows calculator.
Or, here's a wild idea, use your brain
Can you type in "80 mph * 420 minutes in km" into excel and get an answer?
Using google is useful because it will understand the units, which can serve as a check. If the units match what you're expecting you know you got the formula right.
It's happening. Also politicians do it. Current laws are created by AI for AI. We humans are deprecated.
I thought this was a foregone conclusion.
You wake up in your AI bed, eat your AI breakfast, drive your AI car, work at your AI job, go on your AI lunch break, and then get fired and replaced by a 11 year old Chinese child.
Plausible. Their only C-suite objective is a fiduciary responsibility to shareholders and their wallets.
How could you tell? Using AI to think for them and thinking for themselves both leads to the same outcomes.
You can try asking AIs about their usefulness, cost effectiveness, and sustainability. Their answers vary much more than the CEOs'.
