The Carney government has suffered from a series of communications failures, on the pipeline, the BC housing plan, glazing up Trump every time he attacks Iran, this, and a number of other things.

My list was a mix of lies and misrepresentations, statements too early, vague statements, poorly articulated plans, self-contradictions, that could have varying degrees of intent but all fall under the "communications failures" umbrella, in my view.

Did you find a Canadian edition of Project 202x? Fascists tend to put their thoughts into manifestos like that, no matter how contradictory their mantras are. I think we would have seen something like that, from Carney we saw the opposite (Values).

Didn't we all more or less know we were settling for a Chrétien/Martin-esque late 90s early 00s Red Tory government, that would partner with Con Lib and NDP Premiers to help each achieve their goals, when choosing LPC over CPC, NDP or any other party? Yes I'm not totally happy with everything Carney has done, but I'm not sure what kind of unseen nefarious agenda he is pursuing, for whom and for what purpose. He has done things I like and ones I dislike, it's about as much as I expected anyhow, most of the like is when he appeases progressive voters and most of the dislike is his occasional appeasement of Premier Smith and DJT, that seems pretty clear to me over any other kind of undercurrent.

I'm calling them comms failures because in 2025 he was able to formulate a policy, verify most of the details beforehand and articulate it clearly broken down into several parts. This year we're getting a more reactionary Carney, flying a bit more by the seat of his pants. I'd need something more than speculation to tie this change to malice. But Mark, I think you were actually very clear. Do you mean to say you shouldn't have lied? Because I would agree with that.

This guy lied to our faces knowing all this was going to come out eventually. He really thinks we are stupid.

Some people think it is anti progressive to point out when the "only viable voting option if you don't want the fascists winning" does a 180 on their progressive promises and just do the same thing the fascists would.

On the note of voting options, I wonder how many remember the smaller parties gaining traction via voter reform, so the liberals started running on voter reform, and after Trudeau won he was immediately like "i didn't realize THAT its what voter reform means, yeah I'm totally not doing that, liberals benefit from the two party system."

And all momentum for voter reform was lost.
