In an official response posted to the Backrooms movie Instagram account, A24 explained, "As Kane Parsons has made clear, Backrooms is one part of an infinitely bigger ecosystem, rife with creatives who have every right to tell their own version of the story. Yesterday we were made aware of an automated claim submitted to Redbubble on behalf of A24 and Backrooms movie. We immediately began the process to reverse it and reinstate the listing. A24 makes no claim of ownership over the yellow wallpaper, the original post referencing it, or any of the community works that have since been built around it. We will continue to support the artists who, like Kane, were inspired by it."

What does that have to do with this? Or are you just generally classifying anything AI-related as "evil" too?
AI isn't inherently evil, however, until they mandate providing their own power and closed loop water cooling at data centers, then yes...yes they are evil.
That's beyond taking an "art house" style production company that is generally adored due to supporting small time artists and producing high quality film, and then potentially allowing AI generated content that could be made by the very artists their company became successful from.
Just to check , are you asking:
"What does a $75m investment from the company that famously removed "don't be evil" as their motto have to do with evil?"
Doesn't sound difficult to draw the straight line there.

If you'd define what you mean by "troll-like behaviour" then maybe I'd say something more directly about it. As far as I can tell XLE just means I hold positions that are not always popular in the communities I comment in. That's certainly true.
He's stopped calling me a bot and accusing me of being "from Reddit", at least, so that's progress. I mean, I am "from Reddit" - I have a link back to my Reddit profile right in my Fediverse profile. Never knew why that was supposed to be a bad thing.
It was not my question, i was just noting that of the points mentioned in that reply the "troll" reference was the only one that you didn't address.

I don't think thats true.
While you might not agree with the prevailing opinion of reddit(in the fediverse at least), I think you know what it is and why it might be used as a derogatory reference.
A large chunk of the Lemmy/piefed userbase is ex-redditors though, I'd venture likely a majority, so it is a bit of a weird thing to say as an insult.
I would guess it's the exhibition of what some people would consider reddit-like behaviour that is the actual intended insult.
Or rather the behaviour exhibited by reddit denizens that gives it it's bad reputation, for some.
I could be wrong however.
And it's not like Reddit is exactly a hotbed of pro-AI sentiment either, for that matter. Though it does tend to be less extreme in my experience, I suspect because it's just got a larger population so social bubbles are harder to enforce.
I'd, personally, take the reddit and AI parts individually.
Sloperator and reddit chud, rather than attributing the AI evangelism to reddit specifically.
But again, im guessing, I could be entirely wrong.
