Last time I could rent affordably was 10 years. $600 everything included in a spacious and recently renovated basement suite here in BC.
Off of min wage at the time I was able to cover groceries for two, enjoy myself AND save enough for a trip at no stress.
Now I eat primarily grains because it's the best caloric value against inflation :')
Groats, rice, dry beans
Rice is the canvas of the heavans 🤤
But I cannot afford even those things at the supermarket. Have to go to bulk stores and ethnic grocers and shit. How long can this go on?
Basic income when 😢
When it benefits capital
"It's sad to say, but at this point I don't even look at the numbers or how much they're paying me because … it's not going to cover my bills,"
ha ha ha ha ikr ikr ha ha ha :-(
What a weirdly incoherent title, CBC. Damn. I can forgive the clickbait, but what's up with that lede?
