I'll admit I defended him in the past. I did see the plausible deniability in the tattoo and reddit posts, but this is just horrible.
There's no excuses for these actions. The documention provided is damning in every way.

The Dems would rather have Collins win, and lose their chance to take over the Senate, than allow Platner to fight for US.
I have never written to a candidate, but I sent a message to Platner telling him to stay in the race.

I'm done caring about any of this stuff. I want to see MAGA crushed decisively, and purged from our government and society. We need as many warriors as we can get, and Platner is committed to that goal. Who else are we going to count on, the MAGA comedy duo of Schmuck & Jeffries? It's 50% their fault that MAGA got back in power. All they care about is Israel and Insider Trading.

Schmuck Schumer is an enemy of the Democratic Party, and the American people. He would rather have Collins win AGAIN, than back Platner. HE is a significant reason that MAGA is in power. The Dems should be replacing him as leader right now.
His priorities are Israel and Insider Trading and destroying rising Democratic careers, and I would not be surprised at all to find that he's been paid to tank the Democratic Party. When the Dems take Congress in the Fall, the new Progressive Democratic Party should be just as harsh on Democratic corruption as they are on MAGA corruption, and they should investigate him, too. He belongs in prison.
AOC needs to take one of their seats, and somebody else needs to take the other one.

I believe this round of accusations against Platner are credible. I'd like to see more receipts but I will try not to reflexively deny the victim from coming forward how and when she did.
That said, if Platner does not step down within the next week, then Maine must accept one of the two options they are given, as is. One is a Senator who will support women having no rights related to voting or bodily autonomy, reckless war spending, support for genocide, and no accountability on Trump's corruption empire, while starving the livelihood of the common American. The other is a Senator with a storied history chewed and spat out by the military, leading to drunken behvaiour and an alleged serious rape incident, who will work to stop Israel and large corporations having influence through their money in politics, and prosecute Trump org for their crimes and benefit more than just the 1%.
If he does, the choice is likely to be between supporting the removal of women's rights, supporting genocide, oligarchy and Trump's corruption, versus flowery words opposing these things but tacitly allowing the same to continue unpunished.
The obvious solution here is to undo the Missouri Compromise that happened only to extend slavery. Retrocede Maine to Massachusetts and just deprive Missouri of Congressional representation/statehood.
