Got rid of all the Roku Ultras in my house and switched to Apple TVs. I'm using the Apple TV remote for TV power and after the first day or so there's a huge delay in how long it takes to turn on the TV. Seems to be close to 30 seconds. I tried switching the control method from HDMI to IR for the Apple TV and that didn't improve the delay. Any thoughts?

What brand/model of tv do you have? What are the display settings you have on the ATV? (Set the default to 4k SDR and turn on match content and frame rate I. The display options). Ensure the ATV has the control other devices option turned on. Make sure the TV has CEC turned on and that it has found the ATV through the discovery of new devices. This should allow your TV to turn on fastest.

Lack of rigid standards for HDMI CEC means things can be a little janky from one device to another. You may have to dig into every setting and experiment. I know my tv has an option labeled something like “fast startup”.

If the Apple TV wakes (light on) when you click the remote, it’s running. Need to figure out why it’s taking the tv so long to respond to input. Switching to IR is probably not the answer. As long as your tv is less than 5 years old and not some bargain basement brand, HDMI CEC should work.

One of my tvs is 12 years old. It still starts up instantly with the latest Apple TV. It’s a Bravia 50ish inch full HD. So the problem maybe something else maybe the brand or quality of the hdmi cable. Never had to turn any setting on for this

Just curious? Why'd you get rid of your Roku Ultra's?

They were freezing up on me a lot and getting random white snow at times.

Ok, I've never had that happen, but guess it could.
