I loved Super Mario Rpg to death as a kid and its one of my favorite games of all time, so I'm hyped about it it. But I'm also concerned Mario rpg remake will feel like I'm trudging through too much of the same territory just with nicer make up on.

Mario wonder I've heard is an entirely new and must play experience.

Opinions guys?

Jailbreak your Switch and pirate them both.

Or emulate them if you have a powerful enough PC 🏴‍☠️

i have no opinion, but here are both for free if you are so inclined

Mario RPG

I played Wonder to 100% in about 20 hours and thought it was really fun. Best 2D Mario in a long time, in my opinion.

Mario RPG is a remake. You can boot up your SNES or just emulate the old one if you really want to play it again. You could even just emulate the new one, as other commenters have suggested, but given the choice between buying a new game and buying a remake, I take the new game every time

I haven't played either or heard about wonder, but a friend who was hyped for rpg said they were disappointed and it was short. 7 hours to 100% supposedly.

Use the money to install a modchip

If your switch is old enough you don't even need a modchip, you can hack it with nothing but a little printed jig and a phone

I still have my SNES copy, so I'll probably skip the remake. Buy it on sale lmao

Seriously though, I don't buy games on nostalgia. I'm more excited that others that never got to experience the game* now can play it.

*"officially" 🏴‍☠️

I'd go with Wonder.

SMRPG seems pretty short.
