When I record with flash on my phone the screen on my phone shows it flashing red and green and it sometimes loses focus. This does not happen when recording any other parts of the led light

Focusing on reflective surfaces is challenging, so it's not unusual to see refocusing like this.

To me, the red and green during focusing look like it may be caused by longitudinal chromatic aberration. This is a color phenomenon common in lenses in front of, and behind the plane of focus. It is probably being removed by the camera software, but not instantly/consistently.

I'm not really sure, but I would think that the camera would stand out from the rest of the light fitting in some way.

I don't know much about these things but other posts on Reddit about tiny cameras usually show they have wires.

I guess they're too small to include a battery, a bluetooth/wifi chip and antenna, and a smaller wireless technology might require more expensive receiving equipment? (I'm mostly guessing here.)

I’m not convinced it’s a light. To me it looks like the zooming is changing angles of light or something like a prism effect. The concave ring may collect light similar to a mirror; but squish a windows worth of light into a small point.

Put something up next to the light that will allow the camera to focus. Stick a piece of paper to the ceiling. Maybe get some more light shining up there to see if focus happens normally. There’s not a lot of light, it will have a harder time focusing.

Right? "Is this a camera?". Then proceeds to upload a video taken with a RAZR V3.

Turn the lights off, get the room as dark as possible, and point you phone camera at it.

Your phone camera can see IR lights as purple (apparently newer iPhone may have an IR filter).

If it's a hidden camera AND it has night vision then you'll see purple lights.

This looks like a reflection from your camera...

Is this in your house? just pull out the light bulb like you were going to change it.
