Check out Ploopy. Their main focus is trackballs, but they have a mouse too.
I got completely sidetracked by this, but who on earth holds their mouse like this?

Fair, but those bits on the sides of the main mouse buttons are also buttons
Lol that's certainly one way to do it. I have actually seen a few mice with three buttons and a wheel but that's obviously not whatever's going on here
I have 2. One has broken twice from over use, so I reprinted the broken piece and swapped it.
Check out the moddo mouse if you want a wireless, modular, open source gaming mouse, so long as you're either comfortable with ultra lightweight fingertip style shells or 3D printing your own

I also have a ploopy mouse but I really dislike the scroll wheel design. I need to fix that somehow
Goddamn I hate the internet sometimes. Why have I only heard of the Moddo Mouse now despite several searches the past 2 years!?!? AND IT'S WIRELESS!?!?
(Edit: Ah, missed the part where you said this just released)
Anyways, thanks a lot for sharing that. Definitely going to be eyeing this for a new mouse.
Also, do you know if the PCB supports more than 2 side buttons? I've been deperately looking for an option with 4+ side buttons
Hey, no problem.
Yes - the depicted side buttons channel into just one of the rear-side pinouts, and even then I think each side can support many more than just two inputs. I believe there are a few examples on the site and repository, but those resources still need to be built out some more.
I'd recommend reaching out to the designer directly. He's pretty active in his discord server, though if you'd prefer not to use discord I'd be happy to ask on your behalf if you have a concise idea of what you'd like to do.
Seems very new given the unfinished wiki but I’m interested. I’m a bit of a weirdo and want like 9 side buttons (Minecraft lmao) so id probably need to mod heavily. Either way, this seems like roughly what i want. Thanks for sharing :333
That's not weird at all 😊 and yeah it only started shipping a couple months ago.
You should be able to achieve any number of input combinations with the breakout boards. The designer sent me loads of extras and I should really put them to use 😅
Hell, I'm planning on using the same base board to make a wireless macro pad later on. Unfortunately the community is on discord but you can hop in and see what other people have been making.
Ploopy mouse. I have one and I like it. Its open hardware and open software (qmk).
I saw that one. But it looks visualy not very good and like the shape that I want.
Yeah its not the prettiest mouse, but its open thats a huge plus. I like a lot the extra buttons at the edge. Good for switching layers or alt tabbing etc 😀
there are alternative enclosures that people have made. for example: https://www.printables.com/model/1484908-ploopy-mouse-skinny-mod-wo-thumb-rest
This looks really nice. Thanks for sharing
If the shape or look of it is important to you, you may want to mention that in your post with the other info (not everyone reads through all the comments before commenting themselves.) Maybe give an example of what you do like? That way it's more likely that someone will help find what you're looking for, and less likely that you'll get a ton of suggestions for mice you're not looking for :)
Bastard Keyboards made a REALLY good trackball for the Charybdis. I think it’s open source but I could be wrong on that. I think the license doesn’t permit commercial use of their designs but it’s open otherwise.
This is a very simple mouse with no/hardcoded software (only registers for basic configuration): https://www.nager-it.de/en/maus
It has an "as fair as possible" supply chain and can also be self-assembled. Detailed documentation is here: https://www.nager-it.de/en/informationen/material
