Yep, don't let them even convince you this is a question that's allowed. Even allowing it to be framed like this is a win to them. When I buy something it's mine. I can smash it with a hammer, I can fix it, I can modify it.

I'm in a furnished government apartment (no longer in a homeless shelter), and it comes with a Vizio TV. I can't even use the fucking thing without creating an account. So it sits there doing nothing, because I refuse to even make a spam account setup.

I appreciate it's a lot of effort, but I'm surprised that no-one has reverse engineered access to the TVs anyway.
