Fuck it, go a step further. No cars on these streets. Commercial delivery vehicles allowed 5-9am, otherwise they're cordoned off for foot traffic. Streets like Pike Place and Ballard Ave are no place for cars.

And I'm not a fuckcars guy. I love driving and I love cars. But nobody benefits from aggressive rideshare drivers or clueless tourists meandering these places. If you've gotta get places, there's an arterial a block away.

Gotta agree, they're just too afraid of pissing off drivers when they don't realize drivers are going to be pissed off no matter what. Some places don't need cars, and you aren't going to have drivers happily not drive in a place because you say please. They need mechanical bollards that go up like you said at 9am every day. That's what London did with Battersea power station and its revival, it is what we should do here.

I have made the mistake of trying to drive into Pike Place when I was younger. So many people just stared at me like I was an idiot. Never again.
