I see it everywhere. At first I thought these people were just paranoid, afraid that people would interpret a naked clothesline as "my owner doesn't even use me. Take me!". But maybe it's a trend? I don't know.

I see it everywhere. At first I thought these people were just paranoid, afraid that people would interpret a naked clothesline as “my owner doesn’t even use me. Take me!”

You mean, take the... clothesline? Like steal it?

But maybe it’s a trend? I don’t know.

Or maybe you noticed more people doing their laundry? Also, when the weather gets better they may feel more tempted to use it to dry their laundry ;)

Maybe they’re short on closet space.

Closet space for rags and light bulbs?

I hate when my lightbulbs get wet and I have to dry them on the clothes line.

Don't do that. They may fall and break.

Give them 60 seconds in the microwave instead.

If you use proper clothes pins that have the socket they screw into you don't have that problem.

Much quicker that way, you're right!

In that case it may be to keep birds away (to have them not nest on the balcony)

If that's the reason, it doesn't work haha.

Maybe what you're seeing aren't clotheslines at all but string lights with decor attached?
