linus's counting style is to go until he runs out of fingers and toes, then start over from 0. this is genuinely why there has never been a kernel with a minor version of 21.

I think they're saying he counts with his fingers facing himself so it looks like swearing. My mother does this when talking to me and i genuinely have to stop her every time. It's only when you do it in a conversatiin to someone that it's bothersome, of course
