The introduction by the creator:

It's in https://distro.fedesito.me/ , It's a Pokedle inspired game, in which you try to choose the Linux distro based on it's characteristics/features.

If you want to add features/distros feel free to do a pull request, the project is opensource at my ShitHub (link in website).

EDIT: fixed some bugs and added instructions

Y'know what would be neat? A web app that recommends you a linux distro based on your specific needs/preferences

Edit: oh dang someone did it already https://distrochooser.de/

Hmm.. my distro was the second one recommended to me. First was OpenSUSE. I have yet to try that one, but have tested most of the others it recommended. Guess I need to pop OpenSUSE on my Ventoy stick!

^ yus.

And fiddling with the dials on https://distrowatch.com/search.php can help too (e.g. selecting beginners from distribution category drop-down menu).

distrochooser.de & distrowatch.com/search.php, powerful combo to help find the right distro for you.

Finally I can apply my extensive knowledge from distro hopping for the last 3 decades ๐Ÿ’ช

That's a fun idea. Unfortunately I'm too much of a noob to play ๐Ÿ˜…

{ "id": "android", "name": "Android", "paid": false, "initSystem": "init", "releaseType": "Rolling", "parentDistro": "Independent", "packageManager": "pm", "difficulty": "Intermediate", "yearReleased": 2008, "desktopEnvironment": "Mobile UI", "architecture": "ARM, x86", "category": "Mobile", "popularity": "Very High", "discontinued": "No" }

Why? How the hell does this make sense?

Was kinda fun but a lot of fields don't make sense for a lot of distros.

I have seen some fields that are weird but I don't see a problem with the android one? Well I guess calling it rolling isn't quite right but otherwise it's pretty accurate

Wahhh, sorry. Jeroba timed out while making the post, and I know sometimes when it does that it posts anyway so I normally check...and I did this time as well, but it didn't show up so I figured it had actually failed...and it hadn't...ughhhh.

[-] Hisse@programming.dev 1 points 1 month ago

I also use jerboa, can understand

[-] lastweakness@lemmy.world 1 points 1 month ago

Difficulty isn't intermediate. Not rolling. It's also not just arm and x86

[-] Scoopta@programming.dev 1 points 1 month ago

I thought they had dropped most of the other ISAs, have they not? historically it wasn't just those 2 though

[-] lastweakness@lemmy.world 1 points 1 month ago

Did they? Might be my bad then

[-] Scoopta@programming.dev 1 points 4 weeks ago

Went and looked it up, Android officially supports Armv7, Armv8, x86, amd64, and riscv64, so it's missing riscv but otherwise mostly correct
