WHAT DID YOU JUST CALL MY WIFE??!!?!?1!
Well, it's accurate, no? 🤣
Lol, great cocktail btw
As a lifelong bartender can I suggest a tweak
2oz gin
1/2 st German
1 oz grapefruit
1/2 lemon
1/2 rosemary simple
Drop of saline
Orange bitters
Shake hard and double strain into a frozen coupe
For the rosemary syrup, bring 8oz fresh rosemary to the boil in 1 quart (1 liter) water, bring heat to simmer immediately after reaching boil, add double the amount of sugar to water, stir while simmering and cut heat once sugar is dissolved... remove rosemary sprigs and strain syrup thru cheesecloth, chill in fridge .... it should feel viscous between your fingers
Yea, there's a too much St. Germaine, and it's something I really like.
Saving both recipes for later, they both look great
Like luxardo or chartreuse it overpowers a drink easily
I just knew it would have St. Germaine.
Looks delicious
That looks lovely. The SO bought some huge green olives for martinis, so I need to buy a nice bottle of gin. We both like our martinis dirty, so it probably doesn't matter what I buy. I like Bombay Sapphire and she likes Tanqueray. An old bartender friend of mine swears by Boodles. Any suggestions?
Bombay and Tanqueray are traditional gins with the piney note - too piney for this drink in my opinion (and Tanq was my fav for a looong time, then graduated to Boodles and now prefer the less piney gins).
Look for a citrusy gin like Leopold Brothers or at least less piney like Hendricks.
Dirty? Plymoth for me.
Can't go wrong with Tanq 10 for most everything else.
I'll put Hayman's forward as a neutral middle ground.
Looks tasty!
Gin still gives me the ick from a poisoning event in my late teens; However, my s/o would love this so thank you for posting!
I had a similar experience with Tequila. Took a long time to get over it, haha.
Love tequila today.
Cocktails, the libationary art!
A place for conversation about cocktails, ingredients, home mixology, the bar industry or liquor industry, glassware - this is not an exhaustive list. If you think it's in some way related to cocktails it's probably fine.
If you post something you didn't create give credit whenever possible.
Pictures and recipes are encouraged when posting a drink as a standalone post. Example of an ideal drink post:

Remember the code of conduct, keep it nice. In terms of cocktails- specific etiquette that might be different from other communities:
Mentioning your blog, insta, website, book or bar is allowed, yes. For now at least, we do allow self-promotion. If it gets out of hand this might change.
A good post with a drink you don't like is still a good post! Try not to conflate the drink and the post or poster. If someone has a relevant title, gorgeous photo and clearly formatted recipe of what you consider a truly terrible drink, a comment is more appropriate than a downvote.
On that topic: Polite critique/reviews of drinks (or posts, images, etc.) is allowed here. Encouraged , even. It's a good tool for improving your drinks and content. Really, just be nice.
