The four years I spent in high school still feel like the longest chunk of my life so far, and i was married for ten years...

I think I've found that my perception of time is very tied to how much changes and how many experiences feel new. Going through puberty again in my 30s has stretched out the perception a fuck ton, it feels like time passes at like 3 times the rate of my 20s. Getting adequate sleep does too.

A lot of it is school. Only junior high went fast for me but it was only 2 years back then. You have all these different periods and so it does not go by as fast but then your working and its like. lotr is a little old but it was not all that long ago.

That doesn't seem right, I don't even remember the first 3 years

I think that this chart shows the general perception of 1 year of life at any age. So, when you were 3 years old 1 year of your life was literally 1/3, which is a significant value. When you are 50 1 year equals to only about 2% percents of your whole life, which makes even 10 years look not so long.

I don't think that perception holds particularly true past your formative years. For all the usual feeling of time flying, my 30s don't seem to be going faster than my 20s.

Maybe when I get a good midlife crisis I'll change my mind, but at least I'll have a sick tattoo and a Porsche

I'm currently 51 years old.

my first memory is laying in my crib by the window. the curtains were flowing as the breeze came through. the sun was warming me up and felt good. I could smell the cedars right outside the window.

I was 2 months old.

I was jaundice and my mother was giving me "sun time" per the direction of the doctor.

I remember everything in my life and can play it back like a movie in my head.

it's not all great. I can remember every horrible and embarrassing thing that took place in my entire life. just now, even discussing it, I played back some truly embarrassing things from my childhood.

Huh. When was your first handjob? And when did you realise that people die?

first HJ, I was 19. she was an absolute freak. best sex in my life, but she tipped the crazy scale on its head.

I first realized people die when I was four years old when my grandmother died from colon cancer. one day she was there, the next she wasn't and I couldn't see her anymore. she died the day after Christmas and her funeral was just after new years. The only photo I have left of us together was the day before she died on Christmas.
