No problem here, destroying Windows is in our second nature.

No problem getting out, MS keeps Windows broken.

I’ve still never bothered to figure out where this is reported… it’s been 15 years.

[-] ozymandias117@lemmy.world 5 points 1 month ago

Oof. Should we tell him what he's in store for, guys?

[-] puppycat@lemmy.blahaj.zone 3 points 1 month ago

[-] ForgottenUsername@lemmy.world 4 points 1 month ago

Laughs, as still better than using windows 🤣🤣

[-] FrChazzz@lemmus.org 16 points 1 month ago

Well, to be fair, Windows will refuse to open before like fifteen updates so your fate is sealed regardless.

[-] Rentlar@lemmy.ca 14 points 1 month ago

I was told firejail is more secure. This is fine.

[-] Diplomjodler3@lemmy.world 11 points 1 month ago

I'll just spin up a VM real quick.

[-] rtxn@lemmy.world 8 points 1 month ago

No leaving before you git push, you'd better start working on those merge conflicts!

[-] exu@feditown.com 6 points 1 month ago

git push --force

[-] WhiskyTangoFoxtrot@lemmy.world 4 points 1 month ago

You should be working on your own branch anyway.

[-] paequ2@lemmy.today 6 points 1 month ago

Not even once.

[-] AceFuzzLord@lemmy.zip 5 points 1 month ago

That also looks like me on the rare occasion my laptop will randomly go from whatever brightness I set to maximum brightness with no way to change it back manually. Still have no clue why it happens, but at least I can put my laptop to sleep and fix the problem.

[-] MrScottyTay@sh.itjust.works 5 points 1 month ago

It's all okay at long as you have wine with you

[-] texture@lemmy.world 5 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

[-] Digit@lemmy.wtf 2 points 4 weeks ago

Windows are not the problem.

Microsoft Windows' legal restrictions and source-unavailablity is the problem.

Do not confuse the two.

Windows are important for GNU+Linux users too.

As in: "Never trust a computer you cannot defenestrate."

Like if it catches fire. Better to throw it out a window, than let the house catch fire.

[-] Doomsider@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago

Anyone ever consider how stupid the name Windows is for Microslop's OS.

[-] hellfire103@lemmy.ca 5 points 1 month ago

Well, it started out as a basic windowing system for DOS, so...

[-] Doomsider@lemmy.world 0 points 1 month ago

Yeah Microsoft Graphical Boxes makes some sense I suppose. Windows? No, sorry they are not windows.

Why not paintings, canvas, boards, or any other much more logical name. This is some stupid decision by a marketing department.

[-] Samskara@sh.itjust.works 1 points 3 weeks ago

What a weird take. Windows in GUIs were a thing years before Microsoft made theirs. It followed white logically from Microsoft DOS. There were several other operating systems called something with DOS at the time, PC-DOS, Novell DOS, and others.

While not a very creative name, it was pretty self explanatory as to its major feature.

Talk about bad names for an operating system, IBM‘s OS/2 is far worse.

[-] Doomsider@lemmy.world 1 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago)

That is nonsense, I did look it up and it was a last minute marketing decision. Found the guy that likes Winblows!

[-] Samskara@sh.itjust.works 2 points 3 weeks ago

These are xwindows, so I’m good.
