I'm hoping to be able to keep up to one article a week, but I don't want to get into the circle of sacrificing quality just to meet my quantity quota. We'll see, I have ideas and a backlog to write already.
Its awesome of you to take this step, i never get tired of mentioning deng essay on "picking up the pen" (or keyboard in this era).
Thanks a lot, I think there's definitely a place for principled anti imperialists. I don't want to preach to the choir there and I'm a bit tired of unprincipled broad anti imperialists like Johnstone or Blumenthal. They have the right spirit most of the time but as we see without revolutionary theory there can be no revolutionary practice and they get into weird situations where they can offer no solutions or start being anti vaccines for no reason
i never get tired of mentioning deng essay on "picking up the pen" (or keyboard in this era).
Could you link to it?
Nice, Iโve always really enjoyed your writing I hope this goes well for you!

I can tear into patsocs as much as I want there, which would not be suited for ProleWiki.
Hot take: ProleWiki should be allowed to tear into them
It's a bit of a gray area in the essays space. Technically we stand against patsocism in our principles and our own articles on it rightly calls them out, but when it comes to essay we try to stay above petty drama beyond necessary education. Especially as an admin on prolewiki I feel like I have to be careful what I say lest it gets interpreted as an official prolewiki position. Definitely feel more freedom on my own blog from the get go lol. Still love our essays space on PW ofc
I think putting all the criticism into the wiki pages can be seen as too in depth (for a wiki page) and too opinion based. The current way works ok simply laying out obvious Ls with sources.
Not a hot take
MAGA communists in shambles right now
I just received my first pledge this morning, thank you very much for your kind words comrade! I'm glad you enjoy my writing ๐
Are Europeans allowed to colonize Iraq because we came from Mesopotamia?
I never heard about that, could you link a source?
It was mainly a dig at the first civilization commonly being Mesopotamia, but Europeans did first go out of Africa through the "Middle East" some 40000 years ago. It aims to highlight the absurdity of "Israelis" being native and that they "built up" Palestine
My first premium article is going to come out on November 23 (with two free articles between now and then). It's gonna be about what working on ProleWiki has taught me and how you can use that to organize people and parties and get results.
Originally, I wanted to make it free and not turn on subscriptions for some time, but this article grew really quickly and is now a masterclass on design-thinking, full of examples and immediately actionable methods. Like I legit feel this is one of my best articles on design (if you've read the couple I wrote for ProleWiki). It's about as long as the deep dives Grayzone exposรฉs, to give an order of magnitude.
For this reason, I decided that it was worth paywalling (~~you still get free access to the intro which is 300 words long~~ edit: you get access to the intro and the first tip, which is the biggest one), but I might change my model eventually. I'm torn between not wanting to paywall knowledge, but also offering something to people who pledge their money to my publication.
Why is prolewiki soft on patsocs?
