Sounds like about comparable to white USians pre-civil-rights who support local integration with black people, but are otherwise full blown colonizer/imperialist. Which is to say, it's something I guess, but it's a very politically centrist position to have outside of the rabid colonizer state. So like, it's not as much of a "divide" is it's made out to be.

So this does not seem like a meaningful example of "unity across divides" to me. It's people who agree on 90% putting aside the 10% for the moment. Like if those of us in the US said that democrats uniting with republicans was "unity across divides".

We'll see how long that unification lasts. It didn't take long after Oct 7th for the division to come back worse than it ever was.
