Green Party Leader Elizabeth May said the Carney government is not serious about climate change. May, who supported Carney's budget in December, has since questioned the prime minister's word after accusing him of a climate policy flip-flop.

"If we're serious about emissions reduction, then we have to actually revisit some of the measures that have been eliminated since (Carney) took over," May told The Canadian Press.

"They're miles from hitting any of the Paris Agreement targets, and the prime minister did recommit to me on the floor of the House on Nov. 17 that this government is committed to the Paris Agreement and achieving its targets. So the emissions reduction update, the so-called climate competitiveness strategy — there's lots of highfalutin titles for what boils down to...(no) climate plan.""

Not so fun fact: If we stopped production of greenhouse gasses today (so we achieved net zero by 2026), we still have a climate problem.

People treat the rate of annual pollution as the target, and they pretend that hitting this target fixes something.

Only removing the carbon from the atmosphere will permit the Holocene to continue.

Shifting the conversation to far off climate targets or distant emissions standards is just a brainwash. We are doing something right now.

Canada is right now investing in global trade, high technology, fossil fuel production, manufacturing, expansion, growth economics, etc. The entire OLD Jenga tower civilization stack is being invested in and its getting higher.

Yup, there really is no hope of reversing or even mitigating the climate change catastrophe to follow. Best thing to do is to start moving people inland from the coasts, adjust building codes for better storm handling, and protect water sources.
