Good news - they shit their pants at the obvious immediate backlash, and announced it's just not getting updates.

I'd suggest it's a door-in-the-face technique to make a second announcement more palatable through psychological priming... but I mean, they could just not update it, and nobody would fucking notice. Oh is Flash an insecure buggy piece of shit? Gee, it must be every day of the last thirty years.

Next month. I should hope it's been getting cracked on an annual basis, but this final version is getting pirated to shit for certain by all kinds of people who'd prefer to give them $800 per year.

I'm one of the weirdos who's been consistently excited for what generative animation makes possible, and even I don't understand these companies setting themselves on fire like nothing else will continue to exist. What's next, editing models mean they kill Photoshop? Or hey, video editing's been great and all, but nobody needs to import real footage when they can just describe fake live-action.

Whatever you think of neural networks - however you judge the difficulty of reproducing them - nobody can tell you not to run them. They are free, in that sense. And the local ones that run for the price of electricity on any gaming PC do not seem that far off from whatever these idiots expect to replace their tools. Their tools that are primarily used by people who unambiguously haaate neural networks. Way to Venn-diagram your customer base out of existence.
