I think I pulled off a pretty decent job. Getting back into the hobby after a hot minute with these dudes. I really like these goofy little MKVI beaky bastards. Going to run them as van vets, but I might build a small Horus Heresy army just because I like these sculpts so damned much. Really fun models to paint.
May I ask what did you use as the basing turf?
Just the normal army painter basing grass, but to give it more texture I glued a layer of grass that I then wetted down and sort of flattened with a brown wash and let it dry to give it a more soil like feel and glued another layer grass on top of it then hit it with some matte varnish.
