According to a Saturday report in the New York Times, concern over ICE’s brutality has grown to such an extent that many Minnesota residents, including both documented immigrants and US citizens, have started wearing passports around their necks to avoid being potentially targeted.

CNN on Friday reported that ICE has been rounding up refugees living in Minnesota who were allowed to enter the US after undergoing “a rigorous, years-long vetting process,” and sending them to a facility in Texas where they are being prepared for deportation.

The city's leaders have shown that no amount of corpses will sway them to take action. ICE can kill anyone with impunity and the city will do nothing against them.

Do nothing? No, that's wrong, they actively help them! Watched the MPD under Frey's control (which he has more control over than ever, due to people voting for a strong mayoral system and weakening city council several years ago) harass protesters and shield ICE as they continue their terrorism campaign on my neighbors.

Then order your police to protect your residents from ICE. Anything less is just hand-wringing.

It's absolutely astounding to me that nobody has started using these freaks for target practice. I'm not saying it's good or bad, but it's damn odd. Of course that doesn't keep them from playing the victim.

Yeah I'm also surprised. Like, nobody's even throwing eggs at them.

Also, if gangs are really so prevalent and strong, at what point would they start getting involved?

[-] Tinidril@midwest.social 3 points 2 days ago

It's almost like the gang thing was all bullshit.

If this shit happened in the 1920s, I think the mob would be leading popular resistance, even if they covertly

[-] Tinidril@midwest.social 1 points 1 day ago

Today the mob has merged with the financial elites. Crime pays better when it's legal.

an overwhelming majority of the people with guns approve of what's happening.

Pretti literally had a handgun in his wasteland. Lots of people on the left have guns. Also, based on polling and recent special elections, lots of right wingers are getting fed up with ICE too.

i don't doubt that there are some non-conservative gun owners and; until we see another kyle rittenhouse show up announced and given free range; it's a safe bet that the lion's share of gun owners will let ice do their thing before ever taking action.

and you’re basing this on what, exactly?

it's really unfortunate that these guys aren't the dominant force in the american plebescite and that the nra is.

It's already crossed, we're just learning about it now. Unless something stops them, they will keep escalating the violence. Comply or die. Welcome to the new America, brought to you by the GOP.
