So, someone warned me that UpScrolled has unmoderated content, so they need more mods to serve the influx of new users.

To recap: while TikTok US users are moving to UpScrolled after the new ownership announcement, there are some neo-Nazi users infiltrating the new app.

Yeah, Ive seen a lot of obvious Nazis, tons of collective blaming on Jewish people rather than Zionists, no real anti-imperialist mental framework at all. The site’s all Palestine, which is still very good, but there needs to be an analysis beyond just ‘Zionism bad’ if they want to understand what they’re fighting. Most on there (by which I mean the non-Palestinians), dont have said analysis.

I think we'd all be wise to give UpScrolled time to respond. Given that it's a privately-owned startup that's positioned in opposition to the establishment, it's naturally going to be logistically sluggish - especially when it comes to vetting new content moderators. If I was in CIA management I'd be throwing plants at those mod applications to get as many as I can on board, and it'd be a nothing burger on my budget to do that.

Having said that, there's no reason to not be on 小红书 as well and supporting the cultural exchange there. App participation isn't a mutually exclusive choice.

i couldn't either but it helps if you open Xiaohongshu in a web browser and let it do the auto translate, then you can create your account pretty easily
