The answer is, and always has been, that he is a corrupt racist. It not surprise. You can't be shocked by this shit anymore...he's not making any attempt to hide how open and loving he is of bribery

Is the act to demand it to have weight. We all knew he's a corrupt pig, but an (hopeful) impeachment must start from somewhere.

Dude literally was publicly bribed with the largest most expensive private airplane possible and accepted it. I dont think a watch is going to raise many eyebrows

I can see why these gifts appealed to Trump.

Tim Apple gifted trump an award with a solid gold base. Nothing happened

This is one of the less bad things he's done. And yet its still corrupt as fuck.

In a sane world, this would've been enough to impeach. Today, it's just another thing to throw in the pile. Checks and balances don't work when one side owns all the scales and inspectors.

President Donald Trump is being asked to provide more information about the Rolex watch and gold bar he accepted from Swiss businessmen last year, shortly before agreeing to lower tariffs on Swiss goods, by the top Democrat on the Senate Finance Committee. 🤯

Oregon Senator Ron Wyden is seeking more details to determine whether the president violated laws by accepting the gifts before cutting the deal, according to the letter seen by Bloomberg.

Oh. Who proofs and edits this mess?

It was a bribe. That is the answer. The US is fundamentally corrupt.

It's totally cool some court said it's ok so it's cool.

There is a constitutional law for "emoluments" (bribery) that justifies impeachment. Trump has an extensive list of violations dating from first term. But the defense of "there were days I did not take a bribe" shifts to "no one said anything about the previous 100 bribes". Only a military coup fixes the US because democracy is too corrupt, and constitution is worthless.

I think it's also important to set the record straight: a Swiss oligarch bribed this nazi dumbfack with a watch and some gold, in order to continue trading with a fascist country. Fuck him too.

Easy, trump is as crooked as a zipper.

[-] danc4498@lemmy.world 2 points 2 months ago

LOL! That's just textbook corruption! C'mon!
