Red squirrels used to be a familiar sight all over the UK, but these days they are only found in a handful of places,

The woods in Freshfield, near Formby, are one of just a few places you can still spot them.

The Red Squirrel Recovery Network (RSRN) is a five year project aiming to protect red squirrels, who experts say would be lost in 10 years, without extensive conservation efforts.
