Have you played the sequel Road 96: Mile 0?
I completely forgot its existence! Thanks for the reminder!
Heading Out is a driving game where you are trying to make it across the country and there are lots of branching stories and paths based on your choices and who you meet along the way. It is quite stylised and really had me hooked when I first played it. Definitely worth a try! The end was quite memorable.
Keep Driving is a driving / road trip simulator. This one didn't click as well with me and I couldn't really get into it but it also had different paths and stories based on your different choice etc and may be worth checking out for you.
Thank you!!
Have had this downloaded and sitting on the SteamDeck for a while now – might have to give this a shot.
It's about 10 hours to complete, and very easy to pick up / put down!
I think Pyre would fit as well, next to Hades. Pyre has a bit choice based difference between the story development in contrast to Hades, but it's still linear for the majority of the game.
I don't know if it's exactly what you're looking for (and it might have a little too much gameplay) but I just finished the Banner Saga (first part of the trilogy) and it at least offers what you're looking for in terms of choices mattering and branching storylines - especially going into game 2 and three apparently.
I've always heard good things about it, thank you for the suggestion!
