The entire European deployment:

Germany 13, Norway 2, UK 1
With this they have reached the limit of their capabilities and exhausted their 2026 budget.

NATO hasn't dissolved. This will be a situation where EU and US will fight and disagree on Greenland, but continue to support the rest of the imperialist project. However, the contradictions are growing, and will eventually become unsustainable.
Where are they going to stay if the U.S. has the only military base there
According to r/Europe our soldiers are superior when it comes to arctic warfare and they would beat the US easily, so outside in the snow I guess?
Outnumber the American troops stationed there and if an attack comes, instantly detain them as POW?
germany sent 16 soldiers.
Given what people are saying about the number of soldiers, I wonder if it's meant to be symbolic more than anything? Like "you could technically start a war with us by starting something with these soldiers"?
I don't want to give the fascists too much credit, but is Greenland a distraction from Ukraine? Perhaps it is believed a diversion of forces to head off an imaginary invasion of Greenland will lessen the volume and rate of EU support to the eastern front?
I'm sure these 16 troops and their respective equipment were going to turn the tides of the war in ukraine 😅 not mentioning that the US is still the primary benefactor of Ukraine.
I'd sooner think a distraction from Venezuela. If everyone is outraged about something that might (and then doesn't) happen, then there's less discourse around real crimes.
The liberal mind truly is incredible
Just off in a completely false reality
With the world warming the Artic is opening up and Greenland itself will have a lot of strategic importance because of it. It also has a lot of natural resources that currently are difficult to be extracted but after the ice melts will be ripe for the taking.
So the Orange Man is making a cynical play that makes sense, unfortunately.
