It is better known for its jet powered warplanes, but now a different kind of flyer is grabbing the attention.

While RAF Lakenheath in Suffolk is home to some of the fastest aircraft in the world, just two miles down the road a nature reserve is home to Britain's tallest bird.

Standing at around four feet, the common crane was once endangered, but thanks to work at the RSPB-run wetland it is now enjoying something of a resurgence.
