I like that one guy’s drug trip from 2000 years ago has caused this hilarious internet meme.

So slightly off topic. But I read this book by Steven Hall, Maxwell's Deamon.

Same author as the guy who wrote The raw shark text. (A very bizarre and fantastic book).

Anywho.

In this fictional book, the author makes the case that the description of angels in the old biblical text is actually a description of letters/symbols, and Not creatures.

If you think about the power of symbols and words, especially to a mostly illiterate population, it actually makes sense that symbols and words, shapes, drawings, would be revered and be elevated as something divine.

The talk of "wings" and "eyes" could be references to comma shapes and dots.

Not actual wings and eyes.

I thought this was a very interesting theory.

Really neat idea ... which makes you wonder as well how we would see things we found in the universe ... either as radio signals or pulses of energy. All we would understand is that they were pulses or repeated patterns, when they may probably be actual information transmissions that we just don't understand and can't possibly comprehend until we had developed intellectually a lot more than where we are now.
