Yet another reason to support Ukraine, maybe they'll knock out Moscow's power more often.
post
Virtually every major outlet for the right wing is, in some way shape or form, controlled by fascist foreign actors. Especially Russia.
All the dumb-fuck faux leftists supporting Russia over Ukraine, claiming Ukraine has a major Nazi problem, need to open their fucking eyes and see Russia is the biggest exporter of Nazism world wide.
The title is misleading at best. I'm sure 30-50% of the content are bots, but the link to Moscow is... let's say tenuous. There is no good source for a blackout in Moscow, only in a minor city (100k inhabitants) of the Moscow area called Zhukovsky according to one of the comments in the post. Russia is a country with 150 million inhabitants, searching for blackouts anywhere in the country on one event of reduced bot activity isn't real science, and doesn't point to any kind of causation.
Further down in the post, if you read it, you can even see OP was using problematic methodology and had to point to another post. You're literally just going by the words of a random reddit user at this point. This is conspiracy theory level shit, guys, you can do better than this.
Edit: link to the corrected reddit post by the same user. Look at the fifth graph provided. Amazing that 350 people upvoted this conspiracy shit, you guys have a serious problem over at .world
Edit 2: @BoycottTwitter@lemmy.zip do you have anything to reply at all to this? Don't you think your post is disinformation, or at least the title?
I tried improving it by updating the title and description. Even looking at the corrected image we still see disruptions in posting on that day and OP asked a question: why did they both happen to stop on that day despite having such regular posting habits?
why did they both happen to stop on that day despite having such regular posting habits?
One of the reddit comments has proposed a pretty simple explanation: the two profiles are the same person. Just one person's posting habits were disrupted.
You’re literally just going by the words of a random reddit user at this point.
You're describing 90%^1^ of all internet discussion.
^1^ no actual sources available
Looking at your history you seem to be a bit of a Russia's defender.
Are you a Russian bot yourself? Do you feel called out? You seem very defensive. Projecting much?
It’s direct from the Russian playbook: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_generation_warfare
It's probably happeneing here on Lemmy, too. Granted, I can be abrasive, but the lovely mods here delete my posts almost every time I engage with a fucking stinking Yuri bot.
It’s definitely happening. /c/conservative on most instances is just farmed posts.
Sorry, what do you mean by "actual conservatives"?
Maybe that wasn't the best word but if someone is MAGA they're in general not very principled because they just accept whatever Trump does even when it goes against what past prominent conservatives did or said.
For example conservatives at-least said for a long time they were strong supporters of free speech but as soon as Trump started attacking free speech a lot of them fell in line. But for example maybe some on r/conservative would say I thought we supported free speech and then the posts would get deleted leaving only those in the MAGA cult left.
Basically the likes of George Will, Liz Cheney, and other NeverTrump republicans.
They've been driven from any influence within the GOP, but any outsider would call them conservative.
And now Nick Fuentes is trying to elbow his way in. Hard to believe this is all really happening in my life time.
There’s all sorts of conservative “adjacents” and factions, like various sects of libertarians, finance-oriented fiscal conservatives, hawks with a more oldschool view of foreign policy, anti-corporate small business owners, farmers, some hackers, small town preachers, “Hank Hill” suburban moderates, all sorts of folks.
From my perspective in Texas, it* used* to be quite diverse. Then all of a sudden, Trump blocked out the sun, megachurches took over, and social media/Fox News really bombarded otherwise divided factions (including my family) with a lot of unified propaganda.
Don’t get me wrong; I have seen some shit you wouldn’t believe down here, and heard plenty of talk radio that makes my skin crawl. MAGA was here before Trump claimed it. But “conservative” definitely used to be a much broader term than MAGA.
…but clearly these groups are hardly represented anymore.
If OP’s post is true, Russia is very much interested in fostering “MAGA style” Republican unity, so naturally they’re going to encourage this consolidation and crowd out the factions on Reddit.
Dude it's such a clown show in there. I don't think normal people even fuck with that sub anymore. The conservatives I've known are nothing like that. I keep going back just to tip more controversial and divisive comments towards the top tho so maybe I'm the problem
I remember when Russia cut itself off from the internet for like 3 days, and virtually every social media site I frequented was a lot calmer and nicer for those days. It was surreal seeing how fucking much of the internet is just Russia.
Surprising to nobody who isn't a conservative.
the mods are well known russian shills, or russian backed mods. thats why they silence even conservatives that are critical of trump.
Mmm I wonder what that means 🤔
Conservative_memes is full of indians posting about American politics. You used to be able to see posting history until reddit wanted to protect the spammers
Maybe 30% - 50% of content on any subreddit is bots / shills?
Dead internet theory and all that.
It certainly seems like the same old comments over and over on reddit these days...
Obviously by agitprop, Putin wants to be the first to win the new Cold War without even firing a single shot.
It may be working in the short term but in the medium term MAGA may be imploding as real people get their faces eaten by leopards and become disillusioned with the movement.
Removing the conservatives who dissent might backfire on them bc they might end up thinking they're not considered "conservative" anymore and find other ppl to hang out with. And the reddit shillbot page will just be talking to itself. One can hope
thats just conservative media as a whole its a psyop to make people not pay attention to real issues by distracting gullible people by making them believe silly conservative ideas that ultimately end up biting them in the ass later. Its just business to these outlets and influencers, theyre paid by how good they are at painting a picture even if it isnt backed up at all by reality.
Nice, the brave warriors in Ukraine are already having positive effects for the rest of the world.
Not only that, but these two users post with the same pattern: 4-5 posts in a burst and then staying quiet.
Conservative used to actually be kind of split. I remember back in the day, maybe around 2010 or so, could have been later, there were a bunch of people who said things like the state staying out of marriage is a conservative position. I guess more of the libertarian type folks but still, it was more ideologically diverse back then.
That ideological diversity did not just fade on its own. Over the past decade it has been actively pruned away. Spaces like r/conservative now routinely permaban anyone who steps outside an approved line, including the kind of libertarian arguments that used to be common. What remains is a tightly controlled echo chamber that presents itself as grassroots discussion while functioning more like propaganda. Given that shift, it is hard to take it seriously as a place for real conservative debate.
This was the front page's biggest story a bit ago when trump was said to have blown bubba. It's pretty funny.
"The fraud was done on their watch!" while trump had a failed coup, is grifting our tax dollars and doing nazi shit left and right.
